The San Francisco International Airport (SFO), the first and last touchpoint of most visitors' journey to the City by the Bay, goes largely unnoticed as visitors are whisked to their hotel or back to their home. In 2011, SFO unveiled many new improvements and was named the Most Improved Airport of 2011 by Jaunted. Here is what they had to say:
"There were plenty of airports that opened up new wings and additions in 2011, but we think that the recently renovated Terminal 2 at SFO stands out. Of course there was some neat stuff happening just down the 101 at SJC—they got a new terminal too—but the new home for American Airlines and Virgin America is just to much to compete with.
New airport terminal goodies include everything from interactive art—there are tables that play like xylophones—to water fountains just made for filling up your Nalgene or SIGG. Of course there’s plenty of airport wining and dining to be had as well, so be sure to swing by Vino Volo wine bar, that new Cat Cora restaurant, and Pinkberry for dessert—and for some fruit to prevent scurvy."
A special thanks to everyone at SFO. We're really glad we weren't the only ones that noticed all the great improvements. Let us know what your favorite part of SFO is. Leave it in the comments below.
