Public reception on Thurs. Feb. 23, 5-7:30pm with curator led tours at 5:15 & 6:30pm. Popular songs about the State of California, from the Gold Rush to the 1930s, are celebrated in the new exhibit Singing the Golden State. The show, curated by James M. Keller, spotlights graphically striking sheet-music covers & other printed materials, sound recordings, instruments and memorabilia relating to California history, geography, people & its early musical life.
