A very special evening featuring gypsy flamenco singer Kina Mendez of Jerez de la Frontera, guest dancer Antonio Arrebola, guitarists David Paez and Gopal Slavonic, violinist Ryan Feldthouse, singer Roberto Zamora, percussionist Sameul Wornom and dancer/artistic director Kerensa DeMars. The zambra is a unique flamenco form that made its way from the 'cuevas and fiestas' to the silver screen and international stages in the 1940's and 50's. With a rich history of sung poetry the zambra is dynamic and poetic. During this special evening, an international cast of dancers, singers and musicians will explore distinct incarnations of the zambra: the Spanish 'classical' zambra of the 50's, the Arabic-influenced 'zambra mora' of el Andalus, the zambra gitana and finally a modern take on the zambra danced by Antonio Arrebola.
