Mad Man Joins the Circus. Solo show by Northern California artist Drew Fagan - June 2-30 As a young boy, Drew Fagan dreamed of running away to join the circus: an imaginary circus of itinerants and vagabonds, barkers and roustabouts, with performers of questionable character in colorful costumes. Five years ago he met a model who helped spark a new series of oil paintings creating the circus of his imagination. Fagan received his degree in fine art from Stanford University before he was sidetracked into a career as a creative director at advertising agencies in the U.S. and abroad, including BBD&O and McCann-Erickson in San Francisco during the "Mad Men" years. Later he founded his own agency in Los Angeles for 22 years. Painting fulltime since 2004 in a studio overlooking the Mendocino coast, he has been included in numerous exhibitions and won many awards. His paintings are in private and corporate collections around the world. He is a member of the California Art Club and Oil Painters of America.
