Dr. Leslie Ross, professor and chair of Art History at Dominican University of California, will explore the relationship between written texts and visual images in the history of art from ancient to modern times through a wide-ranging and thought-provoking series of selected examples from diverse cultures and geographic areas. Her focus will be on the use of words as art and in art, from the obvious to the elusive, the puzzling to the profound.
