The San Francisco Opera’s Summer Season is heating up with three great performances that run throughout June and into July. The series starts June 5 and runs through July 7 and is performed in the War Memorial Opera House. However, the shows don’t stop there! In September (one of the best times to be outside in the city), San Francisco Opera’s “Opera in the Park” returns to Golden Gate Park.

Les Contes d'Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann)  Jacques Offenbach (June 5-July 6):
This melodic masterpiece follows a sensitive poet as he searches fruitlessly for love.

Così fan tutte Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (June 9-July 1):
An ingenious mix of hilarious farce and poignant drama, follows two young soldiers who disguise their identities to test their lovers’ fidelity.

The Gospel of Mary Magdalene Mark Adamo (June 19-July 7):
Mary Magdalene takes center-stage as Mark Adamo delves into the idea that she was not only Jesus’ closest companion, but also his most respected and esteemed disciple. This world premier is sure to be the highlight of the season.

Opera in The Park (Sept. 8):
Join the SF Opera for some fresh air as they celebrate the opening of their 91st season. Bring a picnic and enjoy this free outdoor event in beautiful Golden Gate Park.
